FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Thorobreds opened the season at home against the
reigning champions of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference (CIAA)
Virginia Union Panthers.
The Thorobreds started off fast as they got an interception the first drive of the game, then
punched it in endzone for a touchdown. Things began to turn for the worse for the
Thorobreds after as the Panthers started to get momentum.
The Panthers’ rushing attack was their key to victory as they rushed for a total of 376 yards,
giving them the 69-7 victory over the Thorobreds.
