As Kentucky State football continues to rebuild its program. I was fortunate to speak with the offensive coordinator and OL coach John Cody. When asked about how the team did in spring ball compared to camp to prepare for the season Cody said “Compared to last year the team chemistry is up. Picking up more guys in camp we feel as were in a better place going into this season. In the camp, there were some good and some bad, we’re young in some eras but over time we were ready.
Talking about some key players to win the game against VA Union Cody replied with “Offensive or defensive? All of them, all the above. It takes a whole team. Can’t glorify one key player, it takes a team, from everyone dressed to non-dressed to win. When asked what the game plan is to dominate on offense, Cody said “Our tempo: we run a non-huddle so we can get lined up effectually. Using our speed to our advantage, taking mismatches, and just winning your one-on-one rep.”
