As this new school year starts, one subject I feel students should be mindful of is
the 2024 Presidential Election. With Election Day on November 5th, students and staff
need to keep in the back of their mind, who are they going to choose between Kamala
Harris and Donald Trump to be the commander in chief for the next four years. Let’s
break down some facts and information regarding both candidates and their parties.

need to keep in the back of their mind, who are they going to choose between Kamala
Harris and Donald Trump to be the commander in chief for the next four years. Let’s
break down some facts and information regarding both candidates and their parties.
First up, Kamala Harris. Ms. Harris is the current sitting vice president of the United
States, and will be teaming up with Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota, to represent
the Democratic Party. Originally, current president Joe Biden was going to run for re-
election this year. In turn, Kamala Harris stepped in and gathered a huge number of
supports in a short matter of time since the announcement of her running in late
July of this year. One of the main things that has helped Harris gather all this support is
being a younger candidate, as well as being a former attorney and senator in
California. On top of that, Harris claims to be fighting for the middle-class Americans to
live healthier and cheaper lives, as she and her family were also in that situation when she
was younger.

Next up is the former 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump. Trump has been
involved in several interesting events since losing the presidency. An assassination
attempt was made on the former president on July 13th this year, in which Trump
managed to live as he was only struck by the ear. Despite that and many other
unfortunate events, at the RNC where he accepted the nomination along with Ohioan JD

Americans, as well as using more energy to turn America into a superpower country.

With Election Day being less than two months away, both candidates are fighting to
make sure they can secure the presidency for the next four years. Will it be the 45th
President reclaiming his spot back as the commander in chief, or will it be the current
Vice President officially becoming America’s first ever female elected president?
Anything can happen between now and November 5th, but the most important thing to
remember is that it’s your vote to decide who you want as president. Please, remember to
vote as soon as possible, so your voice can be heard for this year’s election.
