KSU Baseball Goes Another Season Homeless

On Friday, January 31st, 2025, the KSU Baseball team started their new season in Rome, GA going up against Shorter University in a 3 three-game road series to begin their run towards the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) tournament. Sadly, the ‘Breds did not come out on top in any of the matches. This was due to a first game rain cancellation on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday, February 1st, in which they were swept by the Shorter University Hawks during the opening weekend road trip.

Two weeks ago, they held their second annual “First Pitch Dinner” to pitch the wants and needs of what the program needs to help provide for current and future players to have the space to develop their skills to get better every day. The city of Frankfort owns the space of the field, an area that the school and town share. As of February 3, 2025, the KSU baseball team will continue to play and have their third consecutive season on a high school field, located at Western Hills Highschool, a school here in Frankfort. According to KSU’s head coach Rob Henry, they were gifted a scoreboard to avoid another expense to remodel the field to be playable. “If there is anyone wanting to donate, please contact us”, said Henry.

KSU baseball is still trying to take care of themselves regardless of the adversity and struggles that come their way. Can the KSU baseball team hope for a new field soon within these next few years to finally call home? The baseball team continues their season this week on Friday, February 7th, versus Voorhees College out of South Carolina for a road three game series pushing for that first win of the season.
