FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky State Thorobreds faced off against arch-rivals Central State
Marauders in a 91-85 loss this past Saturday during mini homecoming, despite notable
performances from Aziel Blackwell and Lavar Miller Jr, with both of them dropping 26 points a
piece.

The Marauders started the game fast, going on a 7-0 run in the first few minutes, making the
score 9-2.
Around the midway point of the half, the Thorobreds rallied together and put together their run,
going on a 7-0 run and a three-point shot made by Miller to give the Thorobreds a 16-15 lead
over the Marauders.
As the first half came to a close, there were two ties in the final minutes, but it was the
Marauders who ended up taking the lead at halftime, making the score 39-36.
Coming out of the break, the game was very close as there were another two ties, with the final
one being caused by Blackwell making a pair of free throws, making it 41-41.
As the game went on, the Marauders started gaining some traction, making basket after basket,
making it a 17-point lead, the largest lead of the game with the score being 80-63. With the final
minutes of the game arriving, the Thorobreds were in trouble.

The Thorobreds tried their best, making a comeback and at one point only being down by only
three points, but the Marauders held on to the lead with the final score being 91-85.
