An exciting and vibrant night took place here at Kentucky State University as the Psi Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Franternity Inc. hosted a very anticipated “Queen of Psi Psi” event on Friday at 8:11 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium. The atmosphere was vibrant and electric as students, family, friends, and staff gathered together to see the crowning of the next queen. General admission pricing was set at $4 and discounted down to $2 if you brought a canned good, it brought in a pretty large and lively crowd eager to support their favorite contestants. The night featured performances, speeches, and a showcase of talent from each and every candidate aiming to be crowned the next “Queen of Psi Psi.” Not only did this event celebrate the spirit of competition, the rich culture of HBCU, and one of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) also known as the Divine 9 organizations but it also helped the University as a whole and Psi Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Franternity Inc. give back to the community of Frankfort, Kentucky, as the canned goods will be donated to local shelters and charities due to the flooding and damages of homes, vehicles, buildings, etc. which impacted the state of Kentucky and the city of Frankfort. Overall, the “Queen of Psi Psi” event was a resounding success, As the final moments approached, excitement filled the air, culminating in the announcement of the new queen, who will represent Psi Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Franternity Inc. in future events and bringing together students and community members for a night of fun and entertainment for all who came and enjoyed the show.
