New Basketball Coach

FRANKFORT, Ky. — We are excited to extend a warm welcome to our new assistant coach, Jay Jenkins.

Coach Jenkins brings a ton of experience and an outstanding track record of success, making him a valuable addition to our women’s basketball team. His impressive background speaks volumes about his dedication, appreciation, and passion for the game, and this will bring a great aspect to the Kentucky State women’s basketball program.

Hailing all the way from southwestern Michigan, Coach Jenkins has consistently shown his ability to build winning programs at different institutions. With three seasons and more than 20 victories, he has established himself as a concrete leader and strategist. His achievements include a Great Lakes District B championship and an appearance in the NJCAA Division II tournament, which showcases his ability to help guide and assist these programs to outstanding accomplishments on the regional and national levels.

Beyond his teams’ accolades, Coach Jenkins has a remarkable history of player development. He has successfully guided and prepared a great number of athletes for the tough challenges of collegiate competition, with several of his players going on to compete at the Division I and Division II levels. This ability to help keep talent and control growth is a testament to his coaching skills and commitment to the individual success of all of his players. The Kentucky State University women’s basketball program is confident that Coach Jenkins’ experience and vision will greatly enhance and add to this program in more ways than one.
