FRANKFORT, Ky- Students planning to attend college during the 2026-2027 academic year can begin submitting their free application for Federal Student Aid starting October 1, 2025.
Completing the form is the first step to accessing federal grants, work study opportunities, and student loans. Many states and schools also use FAFSA information to award their own scholarships and aid, so applying early is strongly encouraged.
To locate and complete the form visit studentaid.gov with an active FSA ID.
