Frankfort, Ky.- The Kentucky State women’s basketball team returns for the 2021-2022 season. This season plans to be closer to normal rather than the previous season that was cut short due to being in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Last season, the Thorobreds navigated their way through a season with no fans, quarantines, and masks going 2-7 on the year. The Thorobreds are looking to change the school’s narrative into one of excellence. The roster consists of 4 returning players from the 2021-22 team including Andrea Wallace, Taylor Robinson, Sarah Woghiren and Sydney Thomas. This team is relatively new with 13 new faces on the roster. They are as follows: senior Alicia Noman, junior Sydney Benning, sophomore Gracen Kerr, junior Ja’nia Thompson, and graduate student Hannah Henderson. The remaining three incomers are freshman Taleah Dillworth, sophomore Hilani Cantone and senior Laurie Thomas. Head Coach Terrance Slater and Assistant Coach Amani Williams announced the season schedule that features 13 away games and 12 home games in the Exum Center. Their non-conference matchups include Western Kentucky, Asbury State, Bluefield State, Salem University, Northern Kentucky and West Virginia Wesleyan. The Thorobreds will play their home opener game Nov. 17th at the William Exum Center.
