FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State University standout athlete Navy Curry has entered the transfer portal, marking the end of a memorable chapter in Frankfort and the beginning of a new opportunity for one of the SIAC’s most versatile and dynamic players.
Curry, a first-team All-SIAC selection, built a reputation this past season as a do-it-all athlete with a nonstop motor. He finished the year with 53 tackles — 38 of them solo — along with eight pass breakups, five interceptions, and seven total touchdowns. The numbers don’t just stand out; they tell the story of a player who delivered in the biggest moments and never shied away from pressure. Beyond the highlights, Curry brought something to KSU that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet: presence. He carried himself like a leader even when no one was watching. He played with a chip on his shoulder, but the maturity his teammates respected. Whether locking down receivers, flipping momentum with a takeaway, or electrifying the field on offense or special teams, Curry became the type of player you don’t replace — you adjust the entire game plan around him.
Entering the portal is more than a business decision for Curry. It’s an opportunity to grow, challenge himself, and see how far his talent can take him. For a player who has always bet on himself, this next step feels less like a goodbye and more like a continuation. Wherever he lands, one thing is certain: Navy Curry’s journey is far from over. And if his time at KSU is any indication, he’s just getting started.
