Frankfort, KY- Kentucky State University’s campus glowed on Nov. 8, 2025, with elegance as students gathered for the Shades of Brown Dinner, a celebration of unity, womanhood, and style. Young ladies arrived dressed in beautiful shades of brown, caramel, chestnut, and bronze, which created a stunning display of diversity and harmony.
The evening opened with a powerful spoken word written by Toccara Bozeman and performed with passion and love by Josiah Burton, setting the tone with themes of strength, resilience, and self-love. The atmosphere grew even richer when the Essence Band took the stage, performing four songs that filled the room with warmth and energy.
Serving as hosts, Drew McEachin, Miss Junior, and Jebrella Brown, public representative for KSU Girls’ Rock, guided the night with charm and confidence. The event concluded with laughter, dancing, and more singing. An unforgettable celebration of beauty in every shade of brown.
