Troy Johnson is from Louisville, Kentucky and a Liberal Studies Major at Kentucky State University. By having a disciplined work ethic, collaborating, and learning from others with valuable resources has enabled him to navigate through challenging assignments. He is the former Vice President of Arts Council of Louisville, and co-founder of Black Media Collaborative at the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage in Louisville, Kentucky. He has assisted filmmakers, television producers, and other creative artists in the fields of Mass Media. He’s directed independent projects which he labels as “grassroots” film projects because of the low to no budget cost. He’s directed re-enactments for a documentary called “From Gangs 2 Glory” for EYC Films, directed short movies, videographer for “Journey Generations” a documentary focused on the lives of elderly African-Americans in Kentucky, co-produced and co-hosted a television show called Louisville’s Finest A Talent Showcase. He’s studied acting at various learning centers in Louisville such as Actors Theater of Louisville, Dove School of Arts, Walden Theater//Commonwealth Theater, The Audition Room, JCTC Drama Club, and has performed in various stage productions. He has volunteered for various events and festivals including the International Black Film Festival in Nashville. He’s co-produced a film festival and media expo with other constituents. He’s written screenplays, graphic novels, and has pitched stories to Executive Producers from Lifetime Network, Allblk (All Black TV), and to various other producers. He’s also into puppetry as a creator and performer.
