Frankfort, Ky – Kentucky State secured their 5th win in a row against Franklin Pierce marking it the second time in history since 1978 that Kentucky State has rattled off five straight wins. This is a big accomplishment in Kentucky State history. They also beat teams on their streak like Morehouse (35-17), Savannah State (37-20), Miles (38-17), along with a 42-14 Homecoming win against Edward Waters. This is a major accomplishment since the team had a lot of up and downs in the last few seasons. The Thorobreds now have a six and two record where they ranked number 5 in the 2025 HBCU Division II. With only two regular-season games remaining, the question becomes: what does this mean for the Thorobreds’ playoff chances? Simply put, it means opportunity. If Kentucky State can maintain their momentum and finish strong, they have a legitimate chance to do well in playoffs. With Thorobreds not making the playoffs last year this could be a statement year to prove a lot of people wrong about the program. With their next game being on Nov 1st against Clark Atlanta at home will see if they can continue their dominance and come out on top.
